Few days back I was chatting with my brother-in-law who stays in chennai he told me hes having Idiaappam for breakfast and said that its totally oil free and that I must try it, the name itself sounded facinating to me, so I googled it and tried it at home for the first time and it came out really well. A recipe which has zero oil in it and is yet so tasty.
Rice Flour / Raagi Flour (more healthier) – 2 cups ( You can roast it if you wish to)
Water – 1 cup
Salt – to taste
- Put water and add salt as per taste in a pan and boil it.
- Turn of the gas when it starts boiling, slowly add the rice flour in it and simultaneously mix it with a wooden stapula. Try to make a dough out of it.
- Fill the kitchen press half with a spoon and press it an idli maker.
- Steam it for 8 to 10 mins.
Serve it hot with vegetable stew / coconut chutney / coconut milk and sugar
