Instant one pot biryani in cooker?!

I distinctly remember my initial hostel days when I used to cook this recipe very often since it didn’t require much efforts and tasted delicious. It is not only healthy but also filling.

INGREDIENTS

  1. Green peas – 1 cup
  2. Potatoes – chopped 1 cup
  3. Sweet corm – 1/2 cup
  4. Onions – 1/2 cup
  5. Paneer – 1/2 cup (optional)
  6. Beans – chopped 1/2 cup
  7. Cauliflower florets – 1/2 cup
  8. Biryani rice 1 and 1/2 cup
  9. 1 cup plain dahi / yogurt.
  10. Ghee / oil 3 tablespoon
  11. Garam masala – 2 tablespoon
  12. chilly powder Р1 tablespoon
  13. turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  14. salt as per taste
  15. water for cooking
  16. Jeera – 1 tablespoon
  17. Bay leaf – 2
  18. Cinnamon stick – 2
  19. Star anise / Chakra ful – 2

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat oil / ghee in cooker , add jeera , bay leaf , cinnamon stick ,chakra ful , Green peas,Potatoes,paneer ,Sweet corm,Onions,Beans & Cauliflower florets and dahi.
  2. Mix well and add all the spices red chilly powder , turmeric & garam masala.
  3. Add the soaked and washed rice and mix well.
  4. Add salt and water such that water is 1/2 inch more than the content in the cooker.
  5. Close the cooker and cook for 3 whistles.
  6. Turn of the gas and let it cool down on its own.

Serve hot with curd.
