Mandir style Daal – Khichdi.
We always looooove khichdi especially when it’s prepared in Mandir for Prasad and different temples have their own unique style of preparing it.
One thing which is common in all the temple khichdi is It’s prepared using desi cow ghee completely and usually without onion garlic.
Also in all I used 2 tablespoon of ghee to prepare this which is fine for meal measurements for 2 people.
As long as you are not bathing in ghee & doing proper exercise everyday…ALL is Well.
Preparation: ✔️Soak 1:1 rice and moong daal for 1 hour.
✔️Pressure cook it with a pinch of turmeric and triple the water for 3 whisels.
✔️Meanwhile in a pan take 1 tablespoon ghee add cumin, ginger-chilli paste, turmeric and your favourite veggies.
✔️Add chilli powder, garam masala and cover it.
✔️Once it’s cooked add the pressure cooked daal rice to the pan and mix well.
✔️Now add 1 cup water and cook well. ✔️Add fresh coriander and mix well.
For garnishing take one tablespoon ghee in a seperate pan add 2 big red chillies and turn off the gas. Now add red chilli powder and asafoetida (optional) and pour it over your khichdi.
